Help with bucking hum?

As some of you might now, I recently rebuilt my bass, which has a single humbucker with a V/T control as well as a series/ parallel switch.

It was going pretty well for a while until a few days ago when it all of a sudden started to hum erratically. When I touched the bridge or the strings, the hum would get a lot quieter, but it was still present.

Moreover, whenever I touch the series/parallel switch with my finger, there's a popping sound.

The strange thing is that sometimes, there will be absolutely no hum at all, then all of a sudden, the hum will start again.

I used the wiring diagram at Seymour Duncan for Wiring Guitar humbuckers in series/parallel with V/T knobs.

Since it was my first time taking a soldering project, I was wondering if it was just faulty soldering contacts? Or Grounding?

Does anyone know perhaps what the problem may be?

Sounds like a grounding issue, not sure about the S/P switch though...

I would check your soldering, if it was fine before then it appears to be a grounding issue caused by a dodgy solder joint.

I went over the wiring in my bass. It was a nightmare, sorting out the wires, partially due to my inexperience and messy work.

I ended up replacing all the wiring in my bass, and the volume of the hum has decreased, but it's still there.

Some strange observations, seeing if anyone can help me out here:

The hum stops when I:
1) Touch the bridge
2) Touch the strings
3) Touch the Tuners
4) Touch the pickup magnets
5) Touch the input jack
6) Touch my Sansamp BDDI

The hum gets worst when I:
1) Touch the Volume knob
2) Touch the Tone knob
3) Touch the Series/ Parallel switch
4) Switch the bass from Series to Parallel

Does anyone have a diagnosis they want to try?

If it's unfixable, I'll take it to a guitar place and see if they can do the wiring for me. Hopefully, it won't be too incredibly expensive for a simple wiring job/ to fix up my work.
