Help with Delta bass

I’m trying to remove my Delta bass from its cab, because it has a scratchy pot and I’m going to try to blow it out with a air can duster. I can’t get the dang thing out of the cab. It’s like it’s stuck in their. It looks like it’s rack mountable so it should come right out, but no luck. Anybody ever do this? I don’t want to damage it, but it should be removable for service, no?

I used air. Finally figured out the puzzle. Two bolts on the side. Easy to remove, hard to replace. Air blasted the pots. Hope it works.

Finally got it. The front panel was stuck on, like maybe to fresh paint or contact cement from the Tolex. I had to pry it off. I was afraid I was going to bend or break it.

What is the right way to clean/lube scratchy pots? Is there special pot cleaner, or is DeOxit D-5 the right stuff for that? The way you posted makes it seem like the D-5 will do in a pinch, but that’s not it’s main job. Thanks @agedhorse !

D-5 is the only product I have seen that works exactly as intended without causing damage to the pots. An very tiny amount is all that's needed, no more.

Never try to inject anything down the shaft bushing, that's a quick way to ruin a pot. On non-sealed pots, there is a small opening where the terminals exit. Sealed pots are a replace only item.
