Help with Grey Stache

Hello fellow TB'ers,
So the other day I ordered a Fuzzrocious Grey Stache from Rogue Guitar Shop and received it in the mail today. Now I thought I purchased the most basic one, but upon inspection I believe mine has some of the factory mods. Can anyone explain to me what is a tone bypass and what the 4001/none/germ means and does? AAAAANND if any of you could give me a bit of direction in which settings sound beat on bass/best on guitar if be most appreciative!!! Thanks!

You could send Fuzzrocious an email, they should be able to tell you exactly what you have.

This. :)

I love the Stache. Keep the mid knob cranked all the way up in band settings.

This too :).

We're here to help! If you bought it from Rogue for $145, you should have received a stock unit. If you paid $175, good karma says to contact Rogue. It will mess up their stock and eventually us.
Hit us up with any questions you have! Glad to help! Make some noise!

Tone Bypass bypasses the tone knob making it have a more open sound. Seems to add a bit more beef to me. That will be what the 2nd footswitch is for. The 4001/none/germ are diode. They will be selectable with the toggle switch. I find that I like mine without diodes but it's cool to have the option for different tones.

Like everyone said. Contact Ryan. He will tell ya everything you need to know. Like what each diode does/sounds like, recommended settings and all that jazz.

Thanks for the amazing and incredibly informative responses, guys! FretNoMore, JonnyAngle, and bassmusic17, I truly do appreciate it!

If you read the original post, Mediocre Bassist #849, you can see my question concerned unit operation rather than consumer ethics. If I post a new thread questioning the moral dilemmas of capitalism, what we as a people are owed, what we as a people deserve, equity, the selfishness of altruism, and the underlying foundational current that has quietly formed our oligopolistic society, please quote a response and champion it as your own again!

You got a band aid? I think I cut myself a bit on that edge.

Just ordered one of these bad boys with the diode and tone bypass options. Ryan, could you tell me what the mA draw for this pedal is? I know it's 9v but I was curious on the current draw to make sure it will work with my rig.
