Double Bass Help with info on my Juzek

I am trying to get more info on my Juzek because I was toying with the idea of selling it. It is fully carved. There is a light scratching on the back of the peg box that says Board of Education NYC 1954 and there is a repair tag from Kolstein's dated 1965. I am attaching some photos. I am hoping that someone could give me info on approx. what year it was made and if it was a 'good' era for Juzeks.

I'll let other more knowledgeable than I answer your questions. I want to point out, in case others can't make it out from the pictures, that the restoration done at Kolstein lists "regraduation" and "bass bar." Whether/how that affects value is not something about which I'm qualified to comment.

The bass sounds great. Very punchy and energetic tone. It is a bit darker and mellower than my La Scala hybrid. I currently have Bel Cantos on it, but it is a KILLER jazz bass with spiros.

I'm not sure what that means...'Regraduate bass bar'. Could you offer any insight? I do feel confident that the work was done well since it was performed at Kolsteins.

I couldn't tell whether it said "regraduate bass bar" or whether there were two separate operations (regraduation of the top along with a new bass bar) because there appears to be quite some space between the two on the label.

You say the bass sounds great. Depending on it's shape, it will be a desirable instrument for many. I'd put a few $$$ into a finish touch-up before selling. You see these on this board and in shops at $5-10K. To me, it looks like a post war German Wilfer made Juzek.

check with Barrie Kolstein- he probably has a record of it

regraduation on some Juzeks makes a positive difference-we have done a couple- lost contact with Joe Allen but he has one that we regraduated- he's in the Denver area- Paul Warburton may have Joe's contact info- Joe just moved from TN to Denver- love to talk with him if anyone has his new contact info. Said he was going to look up Paul when he got there.
