Help with Macbook Pro and my Macintosh HD Disappearing

I went to my Macbook Pro today and the Macintosh HD has disappeared from my computer, it's gone from the desktop and the sidebar, it still boots up, and everything about it still works, but the drive seems to be gone. It shows up in Disk Utility, but there is no way to mount it from there. Any help would be great.

Hmm. That's a weird one. What happens when you open the finder? Can you see all your files ok?

I did quite a bit of searching and I found it, it has to do with a preference file, com.apple.finder.plist, becoming corrupted by other applications, it turns the drive to "invisible". This problem corresponds with the 10.4.10 upgrade and at the same time I installed Native Instruments Kontakt 2, so, I am sure it has something to do with one of those.
