Help with string ID... on 5 string Elrick fretless blue silks, very smooth coated feel

Hi all,

Popped into Chicago Music Exchange and played a 5-string line fretless Elrick that was wonderful... and these amazingly smooth strings. They felt coated but maybe that's just flat wound and I'm not used to that???

Are they Chromes? I see that a lot... the guy working didn't know... he thought they might be Pyramids. attached a picture too.

I had kind of wanted a fretless, now I really do... and I kind of wanted a 5 string, now I really do... or maybe its just cause that Elrick was so nice.

anyway, help appreciated on the strings!

Are they Chromes?

If they're D'A Chromes Flats, they would have blue silk at both ends, and the ball ends are color-coded purple-gold-red-black-green (B-G). Is that the case?

yeah, looks like its that... hard to see but one picture on the website could see most of the ball ends and appears to be the ticket. Thanks!

I just checked on the Chicago Music Exchange website and found the pic of an Elrick fretless with the ball ends showing. Yes, they're definitely D'A Chromes Flats.

By the way, D'A Chromes Flats are highly-polished stainless steel flatwound. They're not coated as such.
