I am a novice player and new to this site. I am looking to purchase a Fender five string Jazz Bass. My question is this. How can I verify the serial number? I'm not that knowledgeable, but the # doesnt match anything on Fender's web site. The # is either 061236730, or D61236730. The first character is unclear. The bass does not have a pick guard, but does have an inspection plate on the back. It also has a large Fender logo on the head. Not the typical small logo. Can anyone give me any Ideas on how to verify this bass is for real?
