Help!!!

I have a bit of a problem with my setup. I currently have a Ampeg SVT 350 and I'm running it through a SVT210 Cab. The problem is it sounds like it is only about ten watts. Is it the crossover plate my head It's not the speakers becuase i replaced them. And the funny thing is that this happened with my other head which is an ampeg b2r. Did I just get ****ed over in the process by buying these two heads or is it my cab?
Thanks

Hi.

If You do the "9V" battery test, does both of the speakers move to the same direction?

If not, they're out of phase and You'll need to reverse the wires on one of them.

The correct, "standard", polarity is determined by touching the tip of the speaker lead with the + side of the battery, - on the sleeve of course. The cones should move forward.

Regards
Sam

+1 for Sam. 99% sure of it. Maybe LOUD's new Korean factory workers haven't been taught about wiring in phase yet ;) Just swap the wires around in the driver with the cone going backward.

okay I'll try that frst thing in the morning i'm anxious but it's late and I hate to get the cops called on me...or maybe that is worth it. I'll let you guys know how it works out. Thanks. One thing though my head and cab were both made in the U.S.A. I will still give that test a try though

Ah, sorry...not only were they made in US, I missed in the first post that you replaced them. Well, at least now I'm 100% sure they're out of phase...can't blame that on SLM ;)

Did you use the 9v to test, or are you just looking at wires?

Have you tried the heads with a different cab, to eliminate them as a problem?

What kind of speakers did you use?

Were they new?

yes i did the 9v test and everything speakers were brand new and i know aren't defected because I tried them out before buying them at my local music store. By any chance do you think it could be the crossover plate?

well to answer everyones questions...sorry to take so long well it was the crossover plate. I replaced the speakers with some Neodynium speakers from carvin and I went there today to see if my head and my cab were broken, really cool guys too helped out alot. Anyways the cab sounded like always with different heads and my svt350 sounded amazing. Now I came to the conclusion it was the crossover since the wires were all replaced so I got me a new plate.

what i meant by not louder is not only because of tonal difference because the high were definately more present than the lows but because i turned up and it was not even one tenth as loud as my b-100r (100 watts) and the head is 350 watts at four ohms
