Herbie Flowers - just one bass?

I found out today that Herbie flowers only owns one solid body bass. Is that right? Surely he has a spare or a freebie thrown at him by a company, or…?

The bass is a lovely 1960 Lake Placid Blue Jazz, but surely not? Just one?

It’s wonderful isn’t it? Must be a prototype in 1959. And apparently He spoke of a fuzz circuit in that he later disabled. And the decal was replaced in 1965 by George Harrison’s guitar tech who had one lying around. As you do, apparently.

I read that it originally never had a decal until Harrison’s tech put one on. Very likely a prototype/demonstration instrument. Very cool.
