Here's an odd one (buzz issue)

2002 passive fender pj. It has the normal hum from the j pup.

Now, and I say now cuz it wasn't like this this morning, if I touch the p volume knob, it buzzes. Whether the volume is up or down, it buzzes when my finger touches it, but not when the tone is down. It works fine and there's no buzzing when I touch any other part of the bass. The buzzing goes away slightly if I touch the jazz volume knob or bridge, and a little bit if I touch the tone knob.

What gives?

Maybe a different cable or outlet? Everything is grounded right?

P pot ground not connecting good?- tone pot seems to provide ground.

If you touch metal and the buzz gets louder you have a grounding issue. Although the fact it goes away when you touch other knobs is odd.

Is the bass shielded? I would think the bass needs shielding and the ground double-checked.
