heres my story

i turn it up all the way and about two songs i played my amp was out.

Well, there's the likely source of the problem. If you smelled something burning it is likely the amplifier insides. Probably not something you can fix yourself. I'd pay a tech a few bucks to look at it and see if it's even worth fixing before shelling out a lot of cash. May be further ahead just buying another amp.

Couple pointers.

Just because it goes to 10 doesn't mean you should play it there.

If it sounds distorted/stressed, back off the volume.

If you need to turn it up that high, you need a bigger rig or at least an extension cab to put under that one.
