Honestly, I go back and forth over streaming services.

The main reason is that the artists make little or nothing from streaming. You can listen to their work all you want without the artist getting paid, in essence, because the pay is so tiny.

A friend in Nashville said that the music scene there is all stressed out over Apple saying that soon they won't even "sell" songs. They will only be a streaming service.

Here's what I do. I use Google Play Music subscription to explore music..... to kick the tires so to speak. If I find something I like that I know I will listen to several times, I BUY it somehow.

I'm guessing your problem with Spotify going public is that the price for your entertainment will go up? To be honest, you didn't make that clear @Son of Wobble .
