Hey Aussies, advice about large amp cabs here?

Well - one of the best things I ever found was an aussie amp called WASP.
Well, thats not strictly true, they were designed by a kiwi, called HOLDEN and started in Australia under the name WASP. But anyway.....
They work GREAT for bass. AND they made a 200w monster - and slave! :cool:

I play an all tube 200w (4x6550's) Holden WASP slave.
My preamp is a sansamp.
All up and bought; I had the WASP re-tubed plus sansamp for less than a gorilla. BEAT THAT I SAY!
They're never more than a grand on the'bay but expect a re-cap and new tubes are gonna be needed, as they are rather old.
Shloads of volume.
And being a vintage 70's amp, I get questions from people occasionally (what is that!!?!) and occasionally the odd AC/DC diehard will go "that's an AC/DC amp!"

WASP's do turn up every now and then on Ebay - but you may be lucky and see one online at "Tym's Guitars" in brisbane.
He's a big fan of wasp's, and usually has a few.

As far as cab's go - contact a local aussie cab builder and tell them what you want, and I'm sure they can build you a killer 2x15 or ***x10 or something you like for less than an ampeg fridge new.
Here's a few contacts for a start;

Ahh dude, thanks so much for that info, you JUST made my day! And you've inspired me to do something incredibly crazy, like a 12x12 :P
Thanks so much man

As far as cabs are concerned, check out a Bergantino NV412 or NV610 at Invalid Link Removed . If you haggle you might be able to get them for under $2K. Both cabs sound awesome with an Ashdown ABM500 which you should be able to pick up for around $1K if you shop around.
