Hey everyone!

Learning about new gear you say? Welcome to Wonderland... watch out for that first rabbit hole, it's a doozy lol.
@Klimov44 ..And a rabbit hole it could be indeed. 😁 I joined this place having only one bass, and now I have 11 and sold 2 more. 😲Seriously though, it's a brilliant place to get all the knowledge you need for your journey and everyone is really helpful. Every guitar I own/owned I've modded by asking questions on here and the help has been astonishing. No question is too stupid even if you think it is, we're not born bassists, we have learned and people on here are only too happy to help a fellow TB'er out as much as they can be they maestro's or beginners. You've come to the right place. Welcome

Welcome. One thing to consider when you get comfortable with playing bass is to attend an open mic. You will improve your ear, your technique and you will learn to listen to the other musicians you are playing with. Very important when playing in a band. Good luck and enjoy the low end.;)

Hey everyone! New to TalkBass—been playing for a little while but still feel like a beginner most days. I’ve mostly been practicing at home, but I’m hoping to learn more about gear, technique, and maybe even jamming with others. Looking forward to getting to know you all and picking up some knowledge!
Welcome aboard. This board is a tremendous resource for all sorts of how to’s and what to avoid available 24-7 worldwide. It’s a bery helpful community.

Best wishes on your journey.

Haven't we seen this a few times recently - nice intro thread, then "Inactive" shortly? What does that mean? Did they violate a rule and become banned, quit the site within 24 hours, something else?
Yes you probably have.
This account was a scammer, sending PM's to other members offering gear for sale they didn't have. As soon as we were alerted to it, the member was banned to protect the community here.
They are getting trickier as we see this one started a welcome thread to gain some credibility among us. This person here came back again with another user name and tried it again. That one we also banned. The admins and us moderators stay busy trying to keep the scammers out of here.
