Hey! G&L ASAT Guys!....

I keep hearing horror stories about the neck-dive of an ASAT.
Is it true?
I've been contemplating the purchase of a Tom Hamilton Model from 2015 on Reverb, but this neck-dive thing has me at an impasse.
Can any of you ASAT lovers shed some light?

At one time I owned 7 ASAT basses. The first 2 were custom ordered and I loved everything about them.............except the neck dive, which was brutal. Not only difficult to play but I developed tennis elbow due to the awkward stance. To keep the 2 customs and have a reason to own more I had to fabricate the ASE [ASAT strap extension]. It was a reversible mod that replaced the original neck plate & extended out to the 12th fret.

It made a world of difference in terms of balance and hang. Started to produce and sell these for a time. Eventually I went back to my slab senses and sold them all.

Great basses, lousy ergonomics [for me, YMMV].
