Hey gang!! New here to the site, as a registered user anyway. Not my first time on the site. I am a lefty bassist from Canada. I have been playing for 25 years. I run a YouTube channel for bass, home recording and more. I own 3 basses, a 4 string, 6 string and a fretless. I also own 2 Ampeg rigs. A SVT3Pro with a SVT 410HLF cab and a 1964 B15-N. And that is all I can think of to say off the top of my head.

Just had a look at your youtube channel...nice presentation...a lot more professionally done than most.

(I'll admit I only watched the re-stringing video all the way, I wouldn't know a DAW if it ran over me, so I skipped those:))

Just curious, I noticed you said to cut the strings, and wondered why?
Surely better to keep them for re-use, no?

Hey. Thanks for the kind words about the channel. I'm still learning a lot about Youtube but I am also a photographer and a graphic designer. So much of that rolls over into video for sure.

Many bassists will reuse their strings. They just boil them which can clean a good amount of grim off of them. Bass strings can get pricey so it's a good method to get some extra life out of them. So if that is the case you wouldn't want to cut them. The silk wrapping also gets a little hairy when boiled. Think of a girl with curly hair in high humidity lol. Becomes a bit of a frizz factory.

Oh ok. Yea I have been using logic for about 15 years now. I'll only switch DAW's if Apple ever gives logic the axe.

I've had great luck with my Focusrite 18i20. Not so much with Presonus stuff. How many in's do you need?

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't need many inputs. Probably only a couple since I'll be using mostly plug-ins.
