IMO nothing is faster than an unfinished neck. Where are you located?

I owned Ibbys, Corts, ESP, etc. So we had some sort of a similar esperience...

mm interesting , i m not saying ibanez basses are fragile , they r very solid , same for cort , i m saying when you play it feels that they didn t designed for that kinda play ... agreed with what you say bout the neck , i never tried to play and make myself comfortable with thick necks , i played with thin necks and stock with them , but again i agreed , once u become comfortable with the neck u can be fast on any thickness ...

after all you're not alone in a band and the final goal should be building an overall good sound, not just individually ( tell that to the guitard, right? )

woooh ! tell me about that ! the battle between guitar and bass sound is everlasting !

and about old school basses , i tried a fender P before and i never get along with it ..

Keep in mind that Alex Webster recorded the first three Cannibal Corpse album with a Fender Precision. He used his Modulus mainly live (since that bass is an unbreakable monster) and on the latest albums he used his Spector (as far as I know, he had the Spectro Euro 5 on Butchered at Birth).

It all depends where you are honestly. If you are in the States, then a Spector or Modulus will be better deals, while if you are in Europe, Warwicks tend to have better deals. Also, another question is - do you use a pick or your fingers?

For a modern sound, active pickups is the way to go.

yeah alex used fender p and then an ibanez sr series with emg pick ups for vile album i think , and after modulus he switched to spector for the last 3 albums ...
i love the sound of the first albums , but now it kinda become old school , and i don think it can cut through todays modern distortions ...

I may have missed it, but I'm assuming you're looking for a 5er. If not, all my suggestions can be had in a 4. Personally, I'd look into:

as i said i m in turkey right now but i m managing to come to usa , and i can t find what i m looking for here ...

so beside the neck , that s a very big factor for me , and i think i may stick with thin necks , but first i have to see if the sound of Warwicks is what i m looking for ...
and as far as it goes for sound , i rather have a good tone bass coming from the bass it self , and i rather have no EQ at all , not on bass and not amp or separate pedal , but it s not a concern ,
lets say the thing is , if you listen to EMGs sound as you said it s a modern sound and it will sound great and will cut through very good , and with bartolini or similar to that ( maybe even the MECs ) you have a very very natural sound like it s so alive and warm , what i m looking for is to have something in between ... not that modern sound that you may miss that warm and that feeling , and not that alive and natural sound that s abit away from todays modern sounds , and may not cut through ... and i don wanna do that with EQs ( if it s possible )

Ι think that the only option you have is the preamp, not even the color, but check the pricelist pdf they have on their site.

I haven't heard anything negative about the forte line so far, US made, maple body, emg dc p'ups, aguilar obp 2 preamp.
I'm drooling for one myself, but don't have the $$ (or maybe €€).

I think that for the things you're looking for, it fits perfectly.

Another option is delano pickups. I have a set of delanos in my modded mim jazz. Its a pj pickup bass with a j body and neck... but anyway I let the bassist (Im playing guitar not my first choice but back to the topic) in my currant band use it and he always asks to use my bass after that. But he cuts through great and we tune down to cgcf. He will always use a cheap behringer 8x10 that he blew all the speakers on so we replaced them with eminence basslite 10s, and a crate tube head. His tone with my bass sounds similar to a droptuned eb stingray with alittle bit of that p bass grindy tone.

thank you for your reply but those threads didn t help me , i know what i m looking for but i always like to hear others opinions and suggestion , 'cus it always help , as you know i will end up testing those two by myself , but before that i would like to know what people think and have to say about them and see other options ,
i know how amp will help to have the sound you want , as i say cheap amp will make your instrument crap , and a good amp can change a crapy instrument into a very good sounding one ! (beside the playability ) , but as i said before i prefer to have a good signal from the pick ups themselves than to have it through the preamps , eqs , etc , cuz if u have a good signal then you can always change the other things easily , but it s the instrument that will last and you cant change it easily , and one thing else is , i m abit into electronic , so changing the amp tone , or changing speakers , etc is not a problem for me , so the amp is not a concern at all because i can change it to whatever i like ...
