Hey There!

I've been a member of TB for a while but am just now getting around to posting. I have been a guitar player most of my life, but only because as a singer... I needed to be able to accompany myself. I've always dabbled in bass and just now, as I've turned 50 am I getting serious about it and I believe that I should have been a bass player all along!! While I ALWAYS struggle with guitar, bass really seems to make more sense to me. I love the groove and I love the tone. My basses are, at present, a fretless bass built by a local luthier, Ari Lehtela (see laguitarfactory.com) a Samick P-bass clone and an Asian-built upright. I'm in love with the upright at present and am putting most of my energy towards that.

I've taken part in a lot of musical forums, but Talk Bass seems to be the most "centered" in what they do with a minimum of ranting and personal attacks and some serious "know-how". You guys are an incredible resource.

Thanks,

Willye
