I just love guitars, been playing bass for a long time.
I'm here to ask and share, I have a Fender P bass - with telecaster style knobs - can anyone tell me anything about that? I'd love to know the history of those and a few others, I have a fretless MM Stingray and a fretted and a much underrated Michael Kelly Dragonfly fretless acoustic.

Can anyone recommend a good amp for a reasonable price, I have a TC electronic and a roland cube 60 but something is missing, they are not quite cutting it.

Welcome, if the 60 stands for 60 watts and that is not cutting it - yes I understand - in a gigging situation you'll need at least 150 watts.

From 150 to 300 watts is the norm and above that the size of the room dictates what is needed. IMO above 300 watts you probably will be plugging into the house PA system. I'm cheap and old so lugging a 500 watt amp in and out of the car and going up and down stairs is not going to happen...

As to brand name. No one makes junk and stays in business. My main gigging amp is a Fender Rumble 150. I get by with 150 watts because we plug into the House PA system and use an Aviom sound mixer system. Aviom Products - A360 Personal Mixer I just leave it at the church no reason to lug it back and forth.

I have a couple of Peavey Max 15B fifteen watt units for practice and I do use one at a small church we play. How small? Normally 20 people in attendance. I did try the 15 watt at some of the nursing homes we do and it "just did not cut it". Nursing home spaces are rather large - we normally play in the dining area.

Your 60 would be OK for small rooms and I do have another Fender Rumble 100 watt amp that I use for nursing home gigs now. I think your 60 would work for a nursing home amp. When I got the 100 watt I looked at several amps in the 75 watt range and for just a little more money the 100 watt was calling me... Turns out the 100 watt amp is all the weight I want to lug around and it does fine in the nursing homes we play. My volume knob is open about 3/4 of the way.
