Hi just became a member,

I'm thinking of trying an upright bass, I've been playing electric bass for over 20 yrs, graduate of Montreal Conservatory of music, i would like to know if anyone here is in a similar situation and if so what was your experience, thx

Friend had one at his picking parlor that was left out for anyone to play. I gave it a try, and found it to be:

  • Different.
  • Everything is now vertical.
  • It is a monster that is hard to get to a gig.
  • A teacher is a must just to get you started.

I would love to have had one, however, my hobby budget just did not stretch that far. I'm now too old to even think about it so my advise is to go for it while you can.
