Just a quick intro

I'm 25, started playing guitar at the age of 12. I used to occasionally play bass when recording but that was all until January 2019. I was a little bored with guitar at that point et decided to grab an early 80s Tokai P and i've been hooked so far !

I've always been into 70s and 80s hard rock/heavy metal. My favorite players are Geddy Lee (hence my pseudo), Glenn Hughes, Roger Glover, Gene Simmons, John Entwistle, Duff McKagan, Bob Daisley, Bobby Vega... Bass makes me discover and learn a lot of old disco/funk stuff too.

I adapted pretty quickly to the bass with a pick and i've always been more of a ryhthm player anyway. What's totally new for me is trying to play with my fingers, this is where i start from 0. In fact i tend to emulate what's played with fingers with my pick, being good at palm mutes.

I've been reading topics on this forum almost everyday for a year now so i'm finally diving in !

Came over from rhythm guitar and the pick came over as well. However how days I use my thumb and perhaps the middle finger. I like the sound of the thumb instead of a pick so the pick is on top of my amp, just in case it is needed.

I started using the one finger per fret major scale box in my fretting hand. For some reason my right picking hand mirrored what my left hand was doing. After years of this the fingers started deciding which finger would get what. My point, it all started with the OFPF pattern and the major scale box. Do a Google.

That and $1.87 will get you a cup of coffee in most East Texas dinners.
