In the market for a new bass, budget is around $5k or so. Below are the builders I'm currently considering and reading about, is there anyone I've missed I should take a look at? I'm keeping an eye out for used options but this isn't exactly the most popular type of bass so offerings are pretty limited.
Build time is something that I do find somewhat important. I'm patient but when build times start hitting the two year mark I'm a little reticent to tie up money for that long. I'd only be willing to do that with builders who have a very long proven track record of delivering.
As far as specs go I think pretty much everyone in this price range is accommodating and can either deliver what I want or give educated advice on other options.
Adamovic Dark - This one ticks all the boxes, I love the aesthetics, and the Dollar/Euro parity makes it even more attractive. Not sure on build time for Adamovic, I've read that he's had issues with employee turnover recently.
Bordwell - Another strong contender and I don't think I've ever heard of someone being disappointed with a Bordwell build.
Marleaux Mbass - I haven't had much luck finding a price list for Marleaux and reviews are hard to come by but build quality seems great. I need to reach out to them.
Maruszczyk Sputnik - Again, not a ton of reviews but completed builds look good Probably the lowest priced option.
Wyn - Still doing some reading on Wyn's builds but I've liked everything I've looked at so far.
