High Mass 3 Hole Replacement Bridge

If you can live without the extra mass and just want a damn good bridge, then +1 for the Babicz. I've had several of them and they're the best bridge I've ever used. They get bonus points for being totally smooth and having no sharp bits to scratch your hand on.

What's not to like? I haven't used one, but they look like a well engineered bridge.

I have. Installed them on several basses. I didn't care for how they adjust and didn't see them as an improvement over other bridges like Hipshot, ETS or most stock bridges I've come across. I was hoping to be blown away and I wasn't. Not saying they're bad, just that what I'm using works great.

I'm only chiming in lest some people think there's no counterpoint. Try 'em and see for yourself.

Hipshot makes a drop-in replacement made of either brass or aluminum.
For high mass, you'd go with the brass version.

As far as the Babicz bridge goes, it's not a high-mass bridge nor is it advertised as such.
They even state on their website that they are made from aluminum for less weight.

Help! I need a bass bridge that has 3 mounting holes, is chrome, that is high mass and for a string through body. The bass I need it for is a Fender 1998 American Deluxe Jazz Bass. I have high mass bridges on a few other P-basses and really love them but I am afraid of getting the wrong size replacement bridge this time. Thanks in advance!

Check out my NBD thread, although that is a black bridge (no pic yet) and it's not workable for me, it might work for you in chrome. It took a while to arrive, but was under £10. Three hole, plus four string-through holes.
