high pass filter

is there a way to put together a cheap high pass filter? like a 12db (or more) /oct. high pass at 60 hz or so? it would like to run a such thing between my bass and amp to either protect weak session amps or fight stage boominess. i just want to cut the very low frequencies. my 6string creates fundamental lows that spread fear among loudspeakers. you get the picture.

These things work great. I have one in the effects loop of every amp I own.If you're good enough, you can get them out of the housing and mount it in the control cavity of the insturment. The actual "guts" aren't much bigger than a match head.
