    Hello all,
I have a 64' (ish) Kent Hollow body bass.
3 different venues and various parties it feeds back.....and not a regular feedback but a 'HIGH' little bird high pitch sound. I have tried 3 different heads and 2 different cabs. I also have tried straight into the house PA system at a venue....no luck. I wanna play this baby out again but cannot find a way to fix this prob without replacing parts. Everything is original....that's the problem. I don't wanna mess with it too much. Any ideas?

Hollow bodies are prone to feedback. The top vibrates, and causes a feedback loop.

Hollow body guitar players used to stuff towels in the body to cut the feedback. You could try that. Just make sure you can get it out again. You can also try using foam packing material. Anything that stops the reverberation inside the body. Look up "hollow body guitar stuffing" online and you'll find lots of ideas.

You can also eliminate your onstage amp, or try facing away from it.

Props to you for playing a Kent! My first electric guitar was a Kent.

Mark 76....Robin! haha your probably correct....you too 5 String Blues.
I really don't know if they are microphonic. I can't seem to find much info on these guitars. I've tried talking into the pups and I can BARELY hear my voice....so......MAYBE?
Tpaul....thanks for the input. I've tried facing away...doesn't do it. I might try the stuffing towels thing or even the foam packing.
I've been only using it for my Youtube tutorials, cuz in my studio (garage) I don't get the feedback.
    Here's a vid I did on 'I'm A Believer' with the Kent.
Thanks for all of your input. Gotta try something...cuz it is such a cool looking bass.
