High pitched squeel from sansamp rbi

Could this be feedback? Sorry, but someone was gonna ask.

Sansamps can be picky. Most people who use them have a love/hate relationship with them, as I do. you can get some great sounds outta there, but you can get some garbage too.

I'd dial down the gain, blend it towards your head, and reduce your presence setting.

That should give you a cleaner tone, and then make small, small, small adjustments to get the tone you are after.

Remember, it's a tube modeler, not a tube amp, so if you are trying to squeeze a bunch of tube tone out of it, you can only get really really close.

Also, I've found that Sansamp DIs do NOT like basses with low signal output. The best tones I've gotten is by sending a HOT signal from my bass to the thing, and reducing gain at the sansamp.

Hope this helped.

What if you play behind your amp? Try that, and play with your back to the amp too.

How far away can you get before and still produce the sound?

As I mentioned before, basses with lower output volumes tend to perform more poorly with a BDDI, which does not do a great job boosting volume.

So, if you're trying to get a lot of growl from it, you should be able to. I use mine for overdrive exclusively. BUT, try different settings like I mentioned earlier.
