High School Tips?

Thanks guys.

I do have a group of the bezt friends a guy could ask for. You know the kind of group of guys wearing black band shirts. Live off energy drinks, and play COD4 and Halo 3 nonstop.:p

Actually yesterday we had the 8th grade going away celebration. My band got to play so I can't stop all the chicks from calling me.:D Anyway, one of us had the System of a Down album "Toxicity". Before my band played there was a DJ and we gave him the CD and said play Number 6, which is Chop Suey. When we heard the acoustic guitar intro we al started cheering, we gathered in a circle. Every last person there(300 people) was looking at us. When it got heavy we broke out into this amazing mosh pit right out in the middle of the school commons! It was the best fun I've had in a long time. All if the school officials were craking up laughing their asses off, but the stupid DJ stopped us. I came out only with a busted lip.:bassist:

I'm pretty excited about high school. I'm just gonna be myself and act like I always do. You know acting out and having the best time I can. Grades are very important to me though. I went all 3 years of middle school with only A's & B's. I had some honors classes this year too, so I think I'm prepared.

BTW guys, if you see someone on TB named Laststand666, let me know. He is my buddy from school. He plays bass so I told him to come on here with us. He ws in the pit with me.:p:bassist::bassist:

Thanks again!

Do what you want to do, not what's popular. I was involved in musical theater and the music department more than anything. I was still friends with just about everyone. Don't align yourself with one group, be friendly to everyone.

Be yourself. Choose friends that are positive. As far as chicks go. Don't get wrapped up in the g/f b/f craziness. QUANTITY, not quality. You're not marrying any of these chicks, so just enjoy yourself and figure out the qualities you like in chicks for later in life. Also keep an open mind and learn as much as you can inside and outside of school while you have the shelter of your parents home. Tell your parents you love them often and you will see them grant you more freedoms. Don't try to battle the world, the system, or the man, they're all bigger than you and you will lose. Focus your time on improving yourself. If you want to stand up for something, identify the proper forums for it, and stand up properly. You're going to have good teachers. You're going to have bad teachers. Stay in touch with the good ones. Bite your lip and get through the bad ones. When you party, make sure you have a plan (that was created when your sober). Don't drive drunk. Teenagers are already bad drivers, don't bring alcohol into that. If your drunk, don't be afraid to call a cab, or a your parents for a ride. Don't ride with drunk buddies. Keep on top of your limits. Not everyone can drink as much as everyone else. Drugs affect everyone differently and they can even affect the same person differently at different times. If you want to experiment with them, save it for the time in your life AFTER you've gotten into college, which by the way is your MAIN focus for high school. Do all your work when it's assigned. Procrastination only leads to more stress and a bigger job. Take care of your body. Eat healthy. Exercise. Don't go through puberty and get fat from eating crap. If your fat now, start exercising now. You have a chance to reinvent yourself. Show up to school a better version of your former self. Also being positive and friendly always gets you farther than being emo, complicated, and moody. Especially with the chicks. Don't be afraid to have your own opinion different than someone else or everyone else. If you do have a different opinion learn to respect others and their opinion. Read the Man Laws. Many of them will come into play now. Good luck kid.

Very touching Maki. Thanks, I appreciate the tips!:bassist::cool:

Everyone always says this, and I always agreed with it, but it took me almost 17 years to figure out all I need to do is be myself. I used to change who I was based on which group of friends I hung out, etc. I'm proud to say I'm always me. Try to remember that. You will probably need to experience it for yourself for you to truly get it.

I think thats true almost universally. Advice is good and all but there is nothing like trial and (lots of) errors to teach a lesson. Advice, no matter how good it is, is still just words. Nothing beats experience. It sucks, but everyone goes through it.

So to sum up this rambling post, be yourself. At least try to for now. If not, you'll learn later.

P.S. DO DRUGS. :p (sarcastic... don't worry.)
