Double Bass Higher quality gig bag for EUB?

Hi all - I am wondering if anyone has found a good source for a higher quality gig bag for your eub. In my case, I have an Eminence, and the padded case is somewhat ok but it doesn't provide any real protection for the bridge area in the way that all decent padded URB bags do. Also no pockets for music or cords.

I contacted one of the higher-end gig bag companies and they quoted on the order of $6-700+ to make one custom. I'm sure it would be a great bag but I'm not willing to spend that much.

Anyone find anything on the market that works? I even looked to see if I could find a hard fiber case (like one used for snowboards or golf clubs and the like) that I could put the bass in its gig bag inside of and while some are sized ok in the body, none are long enough.

Curious to know if anyone has found something better than original equipment bags that work for EUB.

My Eminence came with a great gig bag, with 3 pockets (one zippered, a small Velcro, and a bow quiver) by Mooradian. Yours must not be original equipment.

I believe you can purchase the gig bag separately for one or two hundred.

That's the bag I have - bought it from Golihur - and to me, its just ok. Not as much protection as found in a typical upright bag. I really wish that it had some padding at the bridge location, as virtually all full-size urb bags do.

Your bag doesn't have pockets? Mine has one one the neck area large enough to hold strings, and one on the body area with plenty of room for cords and small accessories. No music pocket, but the bass isn't that wide.

That's one of the options that I was hoping for but there is no hard case for the eub. I get your point about gig bags only doing so much, but there are big differences between bags and the level of protection they offer. I was just hoping to find something with more than the stock bag, but not at 1/2 the price of a used EUB!

Got one (came with my NS NXT-5), works fine for when I need something more than the factory gig bag.
URB's need padding at the bridge because it's a relatively fragile spot; most EUB's have low bridges and solid bodies.

Then you must have the fixed neck version, because the removable neck version fits in a a golf bag flight case.

Actually I do have the removable neck version but I treat it as though it is fixed - I take it out alot on gigs and don't want to always mess with slackening strings and taking them back up to tension (let alone re-positioning the bridge)
