Hipshot USA tuners, MIM jazz

Here's what it's looking like. I haven't set the screws in the back yet. I need to line them all up as straight as possible first.

I'm considering doing the same to my MIM Player, which has some neck dive.
Did it work? Any workarounds needed?
How lighter are Ultralites related to the stock tuning machines?

I see the Hipshot Ultralites are 30g x 4 = 120g lighter than the Hipshot HB7s, that itself would already justify the Ultralites.

It definitely lightened the bass up. I wasn't having five issues, most of the weight was in the body (bridge, pre). Worked great, no work arounds needed for mine. Just info and help from TB users.

I would suggest pre-drilling the set screw holes because they will easily strip out. I think you'll like the upgrade.

I have some info that may be useful :
I installed the USA Hipshot Ultralite w/ Small Clover Leaf tuners on my MIM 4 string Pbass using the oversized nuts (18mm) provided by Hipshot.
Original tuners- 88 grams each
Hipshot- 56 grams each
Total savings of 128 grams or 4.5 ounces.
This helped dramatically with the neck dive issue I had.
4.5 ounce reduction on the headstock can make a big difference.
Filled the original holes with wood putty. Looks like a professional job. to me.
