Is that the place at the bottom of the 17 as you get into town?Check out The Starving Musician in Santa Cruz, one in Santa Clara as well. Haven’t been up there for ages, so I hope they’re still great places; they certainly were years ago.
They're at 1006 Pacific Ave., in that little downtown area of Santa Cruz; I'm not sure, but I think they've moved from the place that I knew, but the last time I was there was 2006. The one in Santa Clara should be fairly close to your San Jose gig. So, did you go to The Drum Shop on Vine? Did you go next door to Stein on Vine? Lots of acoustic basses and history there. Have you driven the 17 north over the mountain before? If not, whoever is driving will have to have nerves of steel, my friend, nerves of steel. Is that the place at the bottom of the 17 as you get into town?

The Starving Musician - SANTA CRUZ
Oh yeah.....been there. They’re bad news and they’ll take some getting rid of if they come back with you.One word of warning.
Bedbugs.
Happen in the nicer hotels as well as the fleabag places. Keep your luggage off the floor and keep your instrument cases closed. Its really hard to get rid of those critters and you dont want to bring then home.
