Hiwatt Bulldog 440???

searched the forums for Bulldog 440 and found a sale ad here.

This is a picture I took from the ad.

Not sure if this is the same, I didn't feel like digging too deep.

looks legit. after a second reminder message hiwatt got back to me and confirmed 500w at 8ohms. i assume that means 1000w at 4ohms as per the amp above and manual.

they said the website was an error from an older model.

might get one as the price is good and i do want a ss high watt amp (lol) for clean headroom needs.

The
Perhaps the manual and webpage were written by AI .

There is also a Bulldog 440 Studio. Appears to be the same amp without the big headcase. Weight is 11lbs. AT this weight it could be Class D...I am not saying it is. For comparison, my Ampeg SVT 8-Pro is spec'ed at 23lbs and it is class D. I believe my Epifani UL902C is 18lbs and it is also class D.

It is a class D amp. "The legendary Bulldog 440 amplifier has kept it's original analogue preamp and now features a newly engineered lightwright 400W class D output section, graphic EQ, DI XLR and Line out, multiple speaker outs and rugged construction". Of course, all this is strange in that the "500 watts at 8 ohms" is a different spec. Looks like they need to get their marketing act together. I wish the amp spec situation for all amps did not involve marketing. I still find many consumers who are swayed and confused by "watts" specification. And I still wonder what a "lightwright" is :)

And, these appear to be the same amp less the box: The 440 Studio spec says, "…the legendary Bulldog 440 amplifier has kept it's original analogue preamp and now features a newly engineered lightweight 500W (@ 8 ohms) class D output section"

Did you get confirmation? Did you get one?
confirmed but yet to order (struggle to order something with such slow replies to inquiries and limited/incorrect info on the website).

they said they are a small team very busy with their orders for the hand wired stuff. (follow the money i guess)
