My CT (violin bass) weighs 6.6 lbs.

Thank you.
Looks like that centre block of a CT might weigh well over a pound.
I forget now whether you already posted about doing so, but have you made any mods to it which would change its weight from original ?
And does anyone know how close a CT club bass would be to that weight ?
My Ric is about 9 pounds (like most of them are), and the more I could lighten my load, the better.
I have read of the advantages which a CT series might have, but if they weigh too close to my Ric, then they are not going to be as much of an advantage to me to change, and of course also cost much more than an Ignition.
For example, right now, IIRC, someone in Toronto has a used allegedly mint CT club bass with OHSC listed, asking $950 CAD, private, no tax.
In comparison, the Sweetwater Ignition clubs which I mentioned in my last post are $349 USD without case, or $469 USD with a HS case, plus shipping and our beloved 13% HST at the border, and of course the currency exchange.
Sweetwater seems only to be offering the CT series in violin models, where they carry the other versions too, but not in clubs, where they only have the Ignitions, IIRC.
And to give an idea of the level of the extra costs for an end buyer to import one into Canada from USA, a new Samson wireless from Sweetwater was offered at $200 USD thru eBay, and recently cost me $314 CAD by the time all of those extra costs were considered, including a small skim to PayPal, and was shipped thru eBay's painless new Global system where we pay the extra costs up front thru PayPal, and nothing extra when received.
This was still favourable, because nobody in Canada had those Samsons in stock, or didn't carry them at all (plus the distributor up here was backordered, with ETA 2 months at the time), and all quotes I got were for $400 CAD plus 13% HST (free shipping in some instances), so at least $450 CAD plus a longer wait.
A possible wrench however, is whether Hofner is allowing US stores to ship their products to Canada, and may not be, in order to protect any Canadian stores whch carry them.
There have been cases where other brands which Sweetwater sells state on the product page that they are only for sale to folks who have USA addresses, and the above reason is usually why.
