Hohner "The Jack" bass. Active pickup system not working.

So earlier today i bought this Hohner "The Jack" 5 string as a bass for tracking (If anybody has gotten any information on these basses at all i would love to hear it). I got it second hand for 570 dollars, so of course it wouldn't be in perfect shape. One of the features of the bass that i really liked was the ability to change between passive and active humbuckers, because they both has their own charms. When i got it home the active system didn't work, i figured that it might have been the battery being drained so i changed it.
After the change nothing had happened. The back of the battery compartment says:
Hyo San Electronics, CO, LTD.
Battery supply 9v x 1 or 2.
"1407", "006" or equivalent.
If anybody can, please help.

There is no such thing as being able to switch between active and passive humbuckers. Pickups are either active or passive, with no option for bypassing actives.

The bass most likely has passive pickups, plus a preamp, with an active/passive switch for the preamp. If the preamp is not working, then the first thing to do after changing the battery is to check to see if there is a wiring issue. Does the battery connect to the circuit properly?

I haven't checked the battery compartment yet, since i thought that somebody may have had the same experience, but i'll check the wiring when i get home and give an update

Yeah if your battery is good it is likely the battery wires...either a break in the wire or the solder joint at the board. If you have a multimeter check the voltage where the wires meet the board first....if both still meet the board.
