Hola! FNG from LA ;-)

New guy! Former bass player from many years back (mostly hard rock, punk and New Wave). Took a long time off to raise kiddos and started playing rockabilly guitar a few years back. Still enjoy playing bass (and am probably better at it on a DNA level. Like both and playing both makes me better at both). While I have had an acoustic bass guitar for a number of years but just bought a medium scale Squire Vintage Telecaster bass - mainly on a whim but also in anticipation of making due in my current band's situation (2 gits, no bass - both former bass players- SOMEONE's gonna play bass sooner or later). Primarily self taught, can't read. Would love to learn Double bass but doubt that will happen in the immediate future (the wife would have issues, trust me). Glad to be here, hoping to learn a few things and share a few ill informed opinions from time to time.

Yep I thought I would also like the double bass till I realized my hobby budget is also on retirement with me and the double bass is a monster to lug from one place to the other. So I've settled back and enjoy my 4 string electric.

Thanks! True dat! I remember my wild and mis-spent youth, hauling a double SVT up and down the Sunset Strip. Probably not that young anymore. ;-)
