hole patching and rescrewing. what to patch with?

well, after my other basses where in pieces needing repair, i was left with just my dean 5 string playable, but i hate the flatback neck contour on it. hurts my hand. i decided that my squire needed the least work (stripped holes for bridge, neck plate, and broken off screw for the string tree). i just need to fill in the holes for the bridge screws and neck bolts, and re drill. i will just re-drill the string tree, and let the new one hide the broken screw.
What would be the best thing to fill in the holes, and get a good hold. epoxy is harder than wood glue, but when i tighten the crews, i am afraid it will crack. wood glue might do the same. What should i patch the holes with?

For the "best" repair, I would drill them out and glue in a dowel

I have, in a pinch, filled with toothpicks and wood glue... drip in the glue, add the toothpicks until they are snug, then let it dry. Break off the overhanging toothpick bits, and sand flush. Clamp neck to body, then re-drill.

For the broken off screw, I would definitely recommend trying to get it out of there, and then drilling/filling with a dowel.
