I have a behringer xenyx g802usb and a tech 21 DI along with inputs from an audio source and mics. I have some powered speakers that will suffice for now other than the bass playing into them. What are my options for sending the bass to a sub? Buy a sub with a high pass? Use the other speaker out on the mixer that is marked control room?

IMO, it's more important to get a good, reliable pair of studio monitors before you start investing heavily in a subwoofer. Good monitors will be able to handle bass guitar just fine at appropriate studio monitoring volumes. If you need more volume for bass guitar than what good monitors will provide, then you are likely listening to your studio content too loudly.
