I second G Guitars as somewhere to look. Though they don't carry Genz Benz (at least the last time I went there), they do carry Epifani and Aguilar, as well as Mesa and others. I actually picked up my Epifani UL212 (early S2) there, which MarTONEBass now owns. It is a great cab, though it turns out that for my situation, a pair of single 12's is easier.

Love my Aguilar GS212. Plays nice with the tube heads, really fills the room, not too bulky or heavy. I've been cab-GAS-free for 5 years and counting.

I Think Daddy's Junky Music sometimes stocks Genz-Benz. The Neox-212T is a KILLER cab. I don't think I'm playing any CT gigs for a while, but I have a ton coming up in the lower Westchester, LI, and upstate NY areas. If you are nearby while I'm gigging, you are more than welcome to try it out. Let me know.

I have a NEOX212T as well. Can't imagine needing anything else. Its more than enough even for the outdoor gigs we do.

If you want to go one cab, the Genz Benz Neox 212T is the best stand alone 212 I have ever used, but a bit awkward to move with those top/side handles.

+1, I'm very happy with mine. I shopped for over a decade before I finally committed to a 2x12. This is what I bought and after about two years I have no buyer's remorse.

I was 4x10" guy for years ...than I had 2xGS112+AG500 for couple years and now I play GS212+M6 for about two years or so. I have planty of headroom with this cab also this cab is fuller, deeper than some other 212 or 410...just check it out

I think 2x12s are a good compromise. Sound deeper than 10s, tighter than 15s.

I've gigged 2-12's for years.. Delta 12LF's.. They sound much better since I put'em in a BFM O15TB...

Yup, that cab KILLED last night! But I do love my single 12's as well.

In my experience a 2x12 cab puts out more woof than two 1x12 cabs.

I was at my local GC today and saw this used GK Neo212. Tried it out and I was really surprised how much bottom it had and how much sound it pushed while sounding like it wasn't trying. Its an 8ohm cab and I have a 4ohm amp so If I get this it will mean reduced output... but it sounded great!

Not sure what's up with the red grill, I am guessing the previous owner wasn't happy with the stock grey?

212s are worth looking into. But tone is not directly related to driver size, so the only way to be sure that a rig will give what you want is to try it.

Different brands / models = different sounds. I have a Aguilar GS212 that sounds quite different from their DB212 - and I assure you it sounds different from a GK212.

Try before you buy, and buy USED!

if you have chance just try few of them...Aguilar, Eden, Bergantino, GB-Über ...nice cabs but you must find where to go

The Eden D212XLT is one of the best cabs I've ever heard.

Note: If you don't feel like going through the narrative, just jump to the end and read the bottom line.

Interestingly, the D-212XLT is the cab that pretty much turned me off to 12s. The highs are not crisp, and the lows are muffled. However, recent developments in speaker technology have changed my perspective. It all started when I saw an outrageous deal on an Aguilar AG500-112C combo at dealer's cost (verified by Dave Boonshoft) at GC one day. I can't pass up a deal, so I played it, liked it, bought it.

So I started playing it at practice, and it sounded great, but would start to break up if I pushed it too hard. So I bought a used GS112NT to put under it. Whoa! What a difference ... the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Great tone at high volume. So maybe the technology has made twelves a lot more hi-fi.

OK, then at a GTG in San Diego (actually Cardiff-by-the-Sea) ol' ubone had some Bergantino HT115s in his rig. I couldn't believe how little they sucked. In fact, they didn't suck at all; they fairly ruled. Very crisp on top with solid bottom. How could this be? I hate 15s. So could the Berg 12s sound decent too?

Yes. I'm trying to sell off some of my heavier gear and replace it with light weight stuff due to age (my age, not my gear). Goodbye D-410XLT. So today I went over to Bass San Diego and tried out a Bergantino AE212. I was pretty much blown away by the clarity of the highs and robustness of the lows. All this at decent volume. I was driving it with my little Eden WTX-500, which apparently loves this cab. So I took the AE home, and it's the core of my new light weight rig.

Bottom line, I highly recommend the Bergantino AE212 if you're into twelves, and even if you're not.

I went back to GC and that red faced GK 212 Neo was gone... but I tried a Markbass 102P combo and was blown away with how loud and deep it sounded (in the store). Very tempted to bring that baby home and try it out with the band. 40 pounds is a lovely weight compared to my 75 pound SWR beast (and the 102P has way more power).
