I’m new to TB, and I couldn’t find any current pictures and prices of things when I was looking for a new bass. So maybe we can get something goin for what people can expect when searching for a new bass.
My first bass was the Natural Ibanez SRX700. Beautiful guitar. Love the PU’s. Has a very dynamic range. Not very heavy. Great playability. Neck thru bass. Picked it up private party w/ a gator case and an amp for 450$
Just picked up the orange flametop SRX500. Wanted something similar to the 700 to setup in BEAD, and found this beauty. PU’s are a little less clear, ceramic vs alinco(SRX700). However they have a very dynamic range as well. I think the 500 is slightly less weight, but not by much. Bolt on neck. Still a solid bass. Picked it up private party for 125$
I love the SRX series for their PU’s and playability. I didn’t want standard P/J PUs had a bass years ago like that wasn’t anything to brag about. Didn’t want to go there again.
What’s everyone think? Personal basses and these ones alike?
