How are you guys getting links in your sigs??

Tried to insert my group's link by using a simple 'www...' and the site added URL tags to it ... then told me URL tags were not allowed

I see all kinds of folks here with linkage in their sigs and was just wondering how I might go about getting some of that for meself!

Nope, no dice. TB site still auto-adds then basically says DENIED!!!

I noticed this time that there is a sig permission list at the bottom and the ONLY permission I have is "Allow Quote BBCode." Is this different than the standard permissions by any chance?

You need to be a supporting member. See Rule #11:

Rule #11: Profile Signature Rules

All registered members can include a one-line signature (editable via "My TalkBass") with their posts. By default, only plain text is allowed. Registered members must not post 'for sale' ads, or links to ebay auctions in their signature. Supporting Members can include a multiple-line signature with text formatting and hyperlinks. Links to items for sale in the TalkBass Classifieds may be posted, as well as links to Ebay auctions, IF the item has spent 1 week in the TalkBass Classifieds with no sale. "For sale" text and links must be in the default forum font and size (no additional text formatting).

Saxn, the question is, how do YOU have a multi-line signature? By rule #11, that should also be impossible. Maybe if you're trying to add another line, that's pushing you over the limit or something. Try completely deleting the signature you already have and start clean?

ALSO: how did you get the soundcloud waveform to display? I'm trying to duplicate what you're doing but can't figure out how you did it.

Thanks, plong. I see what you mean. I think the way I got that done is this... I was allowed a two-line sig, and I put one line as a soundcloud link and one with my band name in it.

Also it appears that the url rule isn't violated if I take out the www from the name. I used TheSouthernBrass.com with no complaints.

Thanks everyone for bringing me up to speed after I didn't RTFM!
