How 'bout them kidney stones?

Indeed that initial pain when it gets caught is absolutely horrible. Also, depending on how long it's caught there, it can really cause some problems. Mine went on long enough to block any flow of urine and had me vomiting from the poisoning of myself, good times. But anyways, it's like having the worst backache ever and the feeling of having been punched bare knuckle in the kidney by Mike Tyson, all at once, for hours on end.

They neglected to tell me I had two loose at once! So when the pain returned several days later, I was rather worried.

I don't have any knowledge of them passing, just getting stuck. Had to take several days off work though due to pain, since I was on my feet all day.

Oh joy, looking forward to more getting loose, really I am. I need a stash of good drugs handy.

Yep, vomiting and nearly ****ting my pants was part of the fun during it's travel for me.

I had one a few years ago. I must have been 14-16.

I dont really remember what it was like exactly, just that the pain was so intense that I just spent all day in bed trying not to move since I was all tense from the pain and I knew I wouldnt be able to get comfortable. I didnt even notice when I passed it.

Thinking about it now, I'm suprised I havent had another. I drink an average of 4 cups (960mL/ 32oz) of milk a day, plus I eat a lot of cheese and I'll eat ice cream whenever its available.

You and me both...

They say theres two types, sodium, and calcium. Both of which I have an abundance in my diet, although I've cut out more than 50% of the sodium I used to ingest when I was younger. And I try to drink a decent amount of water, which isn't hard since I'm always thirsty. I can't go anywhere without something to drink in tow.

I'm suprised I haven't had another one come loose yet either. But it's only been a few years since. I've noted a tingle or a twinge back there reminiscent of the pain a few times, probably not a good sign. Ugh...

I have a cyst in my kidney which collects alot of garbage, so I'm very very prone to kidney stones.

My worst bout came when I was 16, when a stone of mine grew to the size of a walnut. I had to have emergency surgery once it was discovered (we didn't know the cause of my symptoms). It was a very intrusive surgery where they literally had to slice my kidney open and take it out. It cut through so much stomach tissue, I couldn't sit upright for two days, and could't walk for about 3-4 days.

I still get them time to time. They're painful as hell, but its nothing compared to a walnut digging into you.

After I returned home from the hospital about 5 days later, my body became physically addicted to the morphine that had been coursing through my veins for said five days. I went through serious withdrawals and I almost had to go back to the hospital. My body temperature shot downwards and I had no less that 5 or 6 blankets on me but I felt like I was in a walk-in freezer constantly.

Worst week of my life.

The only positive of this experience: I've got a bitchin scar.

I should add I churn out a stone about every 3-4 months. Some are very benign and tiny, however the largest one I've passed was about the size of a pencil eraser. That's the only stone that's ever hurt actually coming out.

I drink two liters of water a day now to fix this, so I haven't had a stone in...about 6 months?

I'm 21 and little did in know that my 3 mm one decided to start its journey yesterday. It went from a very slight stomach pain to rolling on the floor in the worst pain in my life in 30 minutes. I went the the hospital and they drugged me up, gave me a prescription for some hydrocodon, and I have been great since then. I haven't caught the the little sucker in my strainer yet but nothing could be as bad as yesterday.

I just peed a 6mm stone out a few weeks ago. Urologist told me cranberry juice does no good either for prevention or breaking them up. He said the answers are unknown but may be from not drinking enough water,
