How can I identify my bass as a real Warwick?

Hey TB,

Mao I just bought a Warwick corvette standard fretless. Is there anyway to verify it's authenticity? I checked the serial number in the Warwick serial number thingy, everything checks out except for the fact that the website doesn't specify it as fretless. Is there any other way to make sure?

I'm actually not trying to sell, just trying to confirm. And there are no fret markers or wood filler areas, so I'm guessing it's always been fretless.

A slightly less common fretless conversion is to replace the whole fretboard

I don't know, that's what I was hoping someone may have some knowledge about.

Email a picture of the electronics cover and the serial number in the same image to Warwick. HP will verify what it is exactly.

The database may not have the fretless detail included, especially if it is an older model. Seems to me that you have a real Warwick.

Quite possibly the Warwick website will have an address you can use. If you were able to find the serial number thingy I'm sure you can find the customer service thingy.

Fake Warwick? I doubt it. Complete fretboard replacement? I highly doubt it.

Post pictures of the bass, front and back, and I'm sure the experts will come forward and help. If you want help, you'll have to actually do some work on your part.

Both of you have good points, I was just hoping for some easy pointers and it was selfish, my apologies. I'll upload pictures of the bass, and look for the address on the website. The issue with the website is, it doesn't seem to work well on mobile, and I don't have a computer currently. I'll find a work around soon hopefully. Is there anything I should specifically upload beyond pictures of the electronics cover and serial number? Should I just upload pictures of the bass itself too?

Whenever I thought to use a computer and look at their website (this was a few months ago when I was looking for eye candy), it didn't seem bad. Its just, on mobile, it is atrocious.

I've owned about ten Warwicks and was educated on all things Warwick by an endorser, it's real.

You see them a lot on AliExpress and similar. Easy giveaway is the lack of wenge/ovangkol and the counterfeiters never do the branded or proprietary hardware like the nut and backplate.

Edit: I just ran my serial number though the Warwick site and it makes no mention of the fretless fingerboard although it certainly is. And there you go.

Yup that's a genuine fretless Warwick neck. No need to sweat over it.
