I love this song, it has one of my all-time favourite basslines. It's subtle, supportive & melodic.

I have always understood that Maurice Gibb played a Rickenbacker 4001 or 4003 on this track.

Does anyone know for sure? I have also heard mention of a P bass.

Maurice Gibb imo is the most talented 'no name' bass player of our time. His lines are superbly played and extremely subtle. Chk out Andy Gibbs Everlasting Love...his timing and touch in the chorus is off the scale good.
