How did you pick your power amp?

An Eden WT-1000 driving a Triad and Goliath II is one of the best rigs I've ever used. Your cabs are very simmilar, I'm sure you'd get equally great results. I've got a spare one that I can sell you, then you'd just need to find a preamp you liked. If you run it stereo (2x300 or so watts) it would not have enough juice to fry your speakers, but if you want to push the limits ... all you gotta do is bridge for 1000 watts @ 4 ohms :D

Damping factor is just a marketing-friendly way of stating an amp's output impedance. It's "marketing-friendly" in that it magnifies minuscule differences in a way that impresses the less-well-informed. The difference between 200 and 2000 is in scant milliohms; the bigger difference in damping will be made by your speaker cabling. You'll get good results from a net damping factor (amp plus speaker cables and crossover and anything else in the amp output-to-speaker driver circuit) of maybe 50 or higher.
 
I started using pre/power amp rigs in the '80's. My first power amp was a BGW monster that gave me about 700 watts and a sore back for years. To me, weight became a factor, and then I switched to a Carver 1200 watt, 21 lb model. Used them for a few years but had alot of trouble with it dying on the gig. Then, I went to a QSC PLX 1600 watt model,( 21 lbs ) and I have been happy with that one for about 10 years( I have the same rig as Bob Lee ). In all that time I used different cab configurations, ran the amps bridged, bi-amped and parallel. Never had a problem with the QSC, even when running different ohm cabs per side. Running bridged does cause more heat, but, the QSC has never failed me. It has been dropped, knocked over, rained on, left in freezing cold temps for days and has never failed to get through the gig. I don't think you can go wrong with a QSC PLX power amp.
