how do i connect my amp and cab

this is my first time with a cab and head, i have a 1/4 inch speaker cable, how do i connect these two (hartke 3500 and peavey headliner 4x10)

Either of the cab jacks is fine, they're connected internally so you can 'daisychain' another 8ohm cab. It's known as 'parallel' wiring.
Cable is correct at the amp.
Never use two cables from the amp into one cab though!

What's up with the blue painter's tape?

My guess: 'Idiot tape', covering up the FX send and return jacks, and preventing an uninformed user from plugging into the wrong jack.

I recently plugged in a cable on the wrong output of a pedal I have owned since 1998 and couldn't figure out what was happening for a good half an hour.... I should invest in some tape!!!

My LH500 had the blue tape also.. Thought it was OEM.. I had the option to go with either the blue tape, black electrical tape or Duct Tape.
