Isn't that a guitar part?
Isn't that a guitar part?

Looks like someone tried writing the guitar part on a bass tab...
...
It is! The tab from the OP is wrong. That happens a lot on ultimate guitar.
IMHO it really doesn't matter if the OP wants to play the guitar part (or any other part, blend of parts or original arrangement) on the bass. Even if it never makes it to the stage there is a lot to be said for exploring and expanding bass language beyond the traditional boundaries.
On the other hand you are all right - the bass player looking at that TAB for the 'official release' bass part will get several trips up the garden path ...
Correct. I absolutely agree. It's nice to play on bass and i like the song. But I think that tab is wrong anyway.I just made a quick video for the OP in which I combined the guitar and bass part in a simple manner. Sounds cool! @Peter Torning Let me know what you think. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VYkRhxSKKNI
@Les Fret Wow, thank you for the video. I'll give (parts of) it a tryI like the way you've combined parts from bass and guitar into bass composition. It sounds wonderful and the video is very clear and watchable. Until TBers, like you, started providing assistance, I'd never before seen barre chords played on bass. Very interesting and a skill I'll be trying to hone in the future.
Nice job! When I hear you play this on bass, I can picture a duet with only you and the vocalist performing it...
... the rest of the band can take a break.

Plucking, I'd go thumb and index on the doublestop, and then alternate middle and ring finger for the B pedal. This is more of a classical guitar technique than boring 'ol rest-strokes, but hey, expand your world! There's a lot more to bass than Jamerson!Hello everyone,
I'm seeking a bit of advice on how to play this tab from the song "Breakeven" by The Script. I've not previously come-across this situation with tab for bass guitar.
In the tab (image below), am I meant to play/pull the notes on the 13th and 14th frets together, or, are they play individually but fast, one after the other? If they need to be played together, I can do that . . . poorly, but I can do it and with practice it will improve. But then it changes to notes on the 13th and 16th frets and I have no idea how to get my fingers to reach those two notes if they needed to be played together. So, what techniques would I need to use?
Thankyou for your help.
Regards
Peter
