How do I remove a tint from a birdseye maple (BEM) fingerboard?

+1 looks amazing as is. better than it would lighter imho....but I think you need to lighten the floor to make it really pop.

Jeff, just my opinion, but I like the contrast going from body to fretboard to headstock.

if you pull the frets and re-sand the board, be careful that the tangs of new frets don't bottom out because you removed too much wood or you'll have other problems.

I appreciate all the advice, I believe I'm going to go with leaving it alone. This is why I'll never have a tattoo, I like the idea of having one but would not be able to make up my mind on the details lol.....

I've owned dozens and dozens of basses, but only 2 that were ever made for me. I'm not usually this indecisive.

It looked far worse before, IMO. The real problem with the color scheme is that you should have a headstock face that matches the body. You should think about sending it back to have the headstock veneered and refinished to match.

Throwing this out there, if the builder has some scraps of that quilted maple, can he make a laminate for the headstock and do that teal/burst finish on the headstock tying the whole thing together?
