How do I repair this Genz Benz Shuttle cabinet?

I've had this Genz Benz shuttle 3.0 combo for a decade as a practice amp but the cab speaker has been dead for the past few years. I thought I might finally get around to fixing it buuuut I have no idea how to access the contents

How do I get into the guts without shredding the tolex and smashing the thing into bits?

There are 4 screws on the corners of the grille. Remove these (don't lose the screws), and with a small hook, the grille will pull off.

Remove the driver, that's how you access the inside. Be careful not to cause additional damage.

It's rare for there to be a bad driver when used with the Shuttle 3.0, are you sure there's something wrong with the cab?

Thanks mate, removing the front grill and the 4 bolts from the speaker was as far as I've gotten.

I've tested the shuttle 3.0 head with another cab and can confirm it works. I haven't been able to test the cab properly as the only other bass head I've got is an Aguilar with speakon outputs.

I assume at this point, removing the speaker is a bit of brute (but gentle) force? Any tips?

Were these glued down against the cabinet front panel?

Edit: Nevermind, it was a little stuck down but came good

Be sure the 1/4" cable isn't damaged. Don't assume anything.

Well, I removed the speaker, tested with a multimeter, removed some ancient cobwebs from the inside of the cab and tested with the amp head again. Auto-magically works. I can only conclude that something was causing a short/ground ::shrugs::

Pretty pleased with too! It's a sick little amp to keep next to my desk for noodlings on slow work days.

I think that might've been the case. Great little amp by the way. It has been well-loved over the years. My only regret is I didn't grab the 4x10 Genz Benz cab that was in the shop at the same time.

A quick question, is Fender building their cheaper cabs to your GB spec? I bought and sold a cheap rumble cab and seemed like a cheap imitation of the 00's Genz Benz models

Yup, have been using GB bass heads for many years, currently using a Shuttlemax 12.2, with a Shuttle 6.2 for back up. Great heads !

Not to rain on the parade, but we still don't know why it stopped working. Being a practice amp, not a big deal, but I wouldn't depend on it for a gig.

True. If it was mine, I would check everything inside while I had it open. Input Jack, wiring, solder joints, fuse (if any) and clean out the cobwebs. Carefully. I'd want to know why it failed, and if it's going to again.
