How do you anchor your picking hand?

If I pick,the low B,I rest my wrist on the edge of my bass and pinky on the bridge.

If I pick the rest of the strings ,I rest the edge of my hand on the strings.
This acts as a damper.

I rest my pinky finger lightly on the body or G-string and slide with my picking motion. Or I rest the edge of my palm on the bridge or muting the strings. Or I float my hand above the strings. Depends on the sound I need.

Middle forearm on the back of the upper and finger or thumb plucking the string. Sometimes I’ll rest on the pickup but mostly not. Same as a guitar. I do floating thumb a little but probably 75% of the time they’re no anchor except my arm. I never liked tug bars. But it’s all preference, no best way.

I don't anchor at all; I'm fully committed to floating thumb. It's done wonders for my ability to move across the strings without thinking.
