How do You power your pedals?

The operative phrase is "offending pedal".

This is a pedal issue NOT a power issue. There can be several reasons for this, BUT moving to an isolated output doesn't solve the problem. You still have a problem, you've just put a band aid on it. Eventually it will rear it's ugly head.

For example, I run 12 or so pedals on a 1Spot without an issue. One day my EBS MicroBass 2 Pre started causing a hum. Run on battery or phantom, no issue. After going a couple of emails to EBS and talking to Visual Sound the problem turned out to be the ground lead on the DC jack was going cold. It wasn't bad enough to prevent power flow, although it would have eventually, it was enough to allow hum.

I can plug my bass directly into my powered cab, but I would rather have a preamp. I do very large, major tour stuff. You can see where failure of this one piece can be bad, especially if it happens mid show.

If I would have taken your action I would have had a larger problem later because I chose to obscure the problem and not solve it.

So as I stated before, the 1Spot is equally as quite (yes. it's documented) as the PP2, for less money, more power, less money and smaller footprint. But it's your money.

Depends on your pedals. My compressor, BBM, Phaser, and tuner wouldn't play nice with a shared ground. In fact, I could only use it on the Compressor and BBM simultaneously.

My experience as well. "A pedal issue" that can be remedied by separate ground is very arguably a "power issue."

Not saying it's necessary. If you are able to work without one, that's fine, but the convenience and quality for me is not snake oil.

I use a PP2+, because the 1-Spot, which I no longer use, won't do the ClusterFlux, with its 300mA needs. I will be building a guitar-specific board, on which I will use the 1-Spot.

I don't understand this. I have a 1-Spot and have 5 pedals connected to it and additionally a Jamman, which alone has 1.3 A!
The 1-Spot can deliver 1.7 Ampere. Why didn't the ClusterFlux work with it?

Because it is center positive, not because of the current draw.

OP. PP2+ will work fine. You isolate all the pedals you think might be a problem, and then you daisy chain the rest together. This applies to all power supplies with isolated outputs.

While we're at it.
I have a 1-spot. Everything's o.k. with it so far. Besides, I have a Mutron III+ from HAZ. One can power it with two 9 Volt Batteries or with an aditional Power Supply.

The 1-Spot powerpack - or however they call it - comes with two adapters whose counterparts allow you to power any unit that is driven by a 9 volt battery. So far the theory.
I know there is something special about the way the Mutron is powered - one cannot use normal power supplies.
But I thought as long as it is possible to power it with two 9 volt batteries it must be possible to power it with the two adaptors from the 1-spot. IIRC I've read in the internet:-) that people use it this way.
This is what happened after I connected the Mutron: Nothing. And the other units that are connected to the 1-spot: No power. Funny thing: As soon as I unplug one of the two adapters: the other effect pedals get power. But as soon as both are connected with the Mutron: no power at all.
I even disconnected all other units to make sure that there isn't an overload or the 1.7 ampere of the 1-spot are not enough. But even in this constellation the Mutron didn't work. It works with batteries so the Mutron is o.k.

What might be the reason? I guess somehow it's the way the two batteries within the Mutron are "interconnected" but I don't understand the exact reason.
