+1. If you are a hired gun keep your mouth shut and just play. At a session you were hired to play the bass. They hired someone else to handle the recording side. I don't even ask questions in those situations. I show up, play, say thanks, go home. My experiences listed above were just in situations where I had some creative input in the project.
